[2019 Guide] Transfer Data from Android to Motorola in Minutes

Step 1 Select Transfer Mode & Old Phone Type on Moto
Run Motorola Migrate app on your Motorola X. Then you will have transfer modes to choose. Tap on "Send data TO this device". Then you can select your old phone type, where files are transferred from. Tap on "Android". Then click the tab "NEXT" at the lower-right corner.

Step 2 Choose File Types to Move
You can select file types to transfer now. Hip the items you want, for example, contacts, messages, photos, video, music and call logs. Then hit the tab "NEXT".

You will have the page "Get your other device ready". If you have downloaded and install Motorola Migrate app on your old phone already, click the button "Press here". If not, tap "NEXT" and download the app on your old phone. Here we click "Press here".

Migration needs to take over your Wi-Fi connection for a few minutes to transfer your stuff. If you are ready to do that now, please choose "CONTINUE" on the pop-up note "Getting connected". Then there will be a QR code on the next screen.

Step 3 Connect Android to Motorola
Launch Motorola Migrate app on your old phone. Here we will take LG G3 for example. Hit the tab "NEXT" on the primarily screen. Then hold the Android phone over the Motorola with the QR code showing in the blue square. Then the app will connect the two phones and will soon start transferring.

Supported Data:
Contacts stored in SIM and phone memory, including info of names, phone number, company, job title, email address, job title, etc.
Messages including text contents, contact's name, phone number, time, etc.
Call logs including contact's name, phone number, duration, call type, etc.

Videos downloaded and captured etc.
Music downloaded and purchased online etc.

Your Android is preparing to send files while the other one is getting ready for receiving. When transferring, please don't turn off Wi-Fi or change Wi-Fi settings. Ensure both device are in close proximity. When data are completely moved, you will be prompt that "Your're done". Then click the button "FINISH" to end the process.

Part 2: Transfer Files from Moto to Android

As there are some bugs with Motorola Migrate, such as no QR code occurs when you try to move files from Moto to Android. In this case, try the other transfer programs like DoTrans. Begin by installing the program on your computer.

Step 1 Connect Moto and Android to a Computer
Run DoTrans on your computer. Then connect your Motorola and Android phone to the computer with USB cable. Set Moto as the source device and Android as the target phone.

Step 2 Choose File Types to Transfer
You can see options listed in the left menu. Choose file types to transfer by clicking the file types, for example, Contacts, Messages, Photos, Videos, etc.

Step 3 Copy Data from Moto to Android
After selecting a file type, you can preview all the data. Tick the files that you want to transfer to your Android phone and then click "Export to Device">Android's name. The program will begin the transmission. When it's done, click "OK" to end the process.
